Responsibilities

The Senior Tax Analyst is responsible for the review & managing of federal, state, and local income tax returns. The person in this role is also responsible for the review and managing of corporate tax accounting workpapers and analyses. The Senior Tax Analyst will perform tax research as needed and supports tax audit defense.  

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Reviews state and local income/franchise returns, property tax returns, and estimated payments.
  • Reviews federal and state tax work paper packages, including depreciation and amortization schedules and apportionment data.
  • Researches federal and state tax compliance issues; drafts research memoranda as needed.
  • Review activities at various location to ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws
  • Reviews annual and quarterly income tax provision calculations.
  • Perform internal control responsibilities related to tax and compliance filings.
  • Assist with issues involving accounting for income taxes (effective tax rate calculation, analysis of deferred tax assets and liabilities, etc.) and cash tax analyses.
  • Collaboratively supports Tax and Finance initiatives.
  • Good understanding with technology including experience with One Source Tax Provision, Oracle, HFM, Excel, and Word are preferred.
  • Maintain FIN 48 and other reserve computations and documentation

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or degree in Finance or Business Administration with a strong emphasis in Accounting
  • CPA and/or advanced degree preferred
  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience with a major corporation or CPA firm.
  • Good understanding of income tax concepts, planning, and compliance.
  • Ability to research various tax issues, including federal and state/local taxes are preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and demonstrates a strong sense of urgency & sensitivity around compliance deadlines.
  • Meets deadlines consistently and partners effectively with senior management and auditors
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills
