Responsibilities

We're looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Operations Accounting team! 

 

Here’s a look into what you will be doing in this role:

  • Lead monitoring and accounting for lease and freight related transactions, including the maintenance of leased assets included in PowerPlan (leasing software)
  • Work closely with ADS logistics team to identify business changes and provide insight on financial results
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations, investigate unreconciled balances or variances between general ledger and various source documents
  • Prepare monthly journal entries as needed
  • Collaborate across assorted business functions (finance, accounting, sales, operations, IT, HR, Investor Relations, etc.) providing insights with ad‐hoc analysis
  • Support ongoing efforts focused on streamlining, improving, and automating processes
  • Drive through challenges in order to effectively deliver on commitments
  • Ensure SOX compliance by adhering to internal control requirements, maintaining updated documentation and providing recommendations as appropriate

 

Requirements

Qualified applicants should possess the following background and characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 4+ years practical work experience
  • Oracle and/or PowerPlan experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong technical skills including knowledge of GAAP
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is a must
  • Ability to understand issues, demonstrate resourcefulness and pro-actively resolve problems and manage multiple projects in a timely manner
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills to research and resolve inquiries and respond in a timely manner
  • Able to handle confidential information in a mature manner
  • Solid organizational skills, task prioritization and effective time management
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence individuals in various functional areas and different levels of the organization
  • Mid to advanced PC skills using Outlook, Word, Excel (ability to perform pivots, V-lookups and other functions with Excel)
