    Responsibilities

    The Risk and Claims Analyst reports to the Risk Manager and is responsible for oversight of the company’s workers’ compensation, general liability and automobile liability claims. The person in this role will also be responsible for various insurance procurement activities and other departmental functions.

     

    Essential Functions

    • Provide oversight, direction and authority to third party claim adjusters, legal counsel, industry consultants and insurance companies to mitigate losses and ensure claims are resolved in a timely, cost effective manner
    • Monitor performance of third party claim administrators and review and approve claim reserves
    • Development and distribution of claim reports
    • Explain claims process to employees and others
    • Provide frequent and prompt communication regarding casualty claims with employees, plant managers and others
    • Assist in the insurance procurement process as needed
    • Optimize work processes by investigating and employing best practices with a focus on continuous improvement
    • Assist in the distribution of insurance certificates, surety bonds, automobile insurance id cards and other documentation
    • Assist in the gathering of documentation related to the company’s insurance procurement process

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field
    • Two (2) to four (4) years’ experience with a corporate risk management department, insurance company or third party administrator
    • Excellent understanding of the insurance claim process
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
    • Meets deadlines consistently and partners effectively with internal partners
