    Application Engineers are the primary technical resource for the field sales force, and are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. Working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate, the Application Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. The Application Engineer must also be able to convey design information to the manufacturing floor for proper assembly.


    Responsibilities Primary:

    • Maintain expert level of product knowledge and application.
    • Provide design and specification development support to field sales team, contractors, distributors, and engineers.
    • Read engineering designs and customer requests and act as conduit and technical liaison between the field and our assembly floor.
    • Listen, review, understand and convey customer design requirements and submit assembly drawings to the shop for product builds.
    • Assist in configuring appropriate designs given inlet parameters to help refine a master database and continually updated website, which will include CAD work.
    • Perform technical/ product training for sales and customer service personnel.
    • Assist in the design and development of new products and create sales tools necessary to make ADS and affiliated distributors successful at selling FLEXSTORM.
    • Maintain accurate records of target accounts, opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence in company approved databases.
    • Develop submittal drawings for major approvals and new products.
    • Travel to project sites as required with ADS sales personnel.
    • Assist in developing and testing new inlet filters and stormwater protection technologies; develop filter testing protocol and travel to test facilities or field sites.
    • Attend regional trade shows to learn more about the industry and present our latest technologies.
    • Understand operation of all equipment and the entire manufacturing process.
    • Recommend new procedures and/or equipment that will result in operational efficiency and/or product and quality improvements.
    • Assists in BOM data entry, inventory control and product costing accuracy.
    • Become proficient in using Oracle for order fulfillment and inventory control


    • Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives.
    • Maintain professional business relationships within target accounts.
    • Provide status of ongoing projects and future projects.
    • Identify customer's needs and sales opportunities to help future growth.

    Qualifications Required:

    • BA/BS in Engineering, Technical Field, or equivalent successful experience in a similar controls industry role.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCad.
    • Strong communication, Interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Available for Travel; 10%-15% typical once comfortable with product line.  
    • Customer Service or Sales Support experience.
