    Responsibilities

    The Tax Analyst is responsible for the preparation of corporate tax accounting workpapers and analyses.  The person in this role is also responsible for the review & organization of federal, state, and local income tax returns. The Tax Analyst will perform tax research as needed and help support tax audit defense.  

     

    Essential Functions: 

    • Prepare accounting for income taxes calculations (effective tax rate calculation, analysis of deferred tax assets and liabilities, etc.) and cash tax analyses.
    • Prepare annual and quarterly income tax provision calculations.
    • Perform internal control responsibilities related to accounting for income taxes and compliance filings.
    • Maintain FIN 48 and other reserve computations and documentation.
    • Assist in the preparation and review of state and local income/franchise returns, property tax returns, and estimated payments.
    • Reviews federal and state tax work paper packages, including depreciation and amortization schedules and apportionment data.
    • Monthly management of tax fixed asset software, including lease assets.
    • Researches federal and state tax compliance issues; drafts research memoranda as needed.
    • Review activities at various locations to ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws.
    • Collaboratively supports Tax and Finance initiatives.
    • Good understanding with technology including experience with One Source Tax Provision, Oracle, HFM, Excel, and Word are preferred.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or degree in Finance or Business Administration with a strong emphasis in Accounting
      CPA and/or advanced degree preferred
    • One (1) to three (3) years’ experience with a major corporation or CPA firm.
    • Good understanding of income tax concepts, planning, and compliance.
    • Ability to research various tax issues, including federal and state/local taxes are preferred.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Self-motivated, collaborative, and demonstrates a strong sense of urgency & sensitivity around compliance deadlines.
    • Meets deadlines consistently and partners effectively with senior management and auditors
    • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills
