    The Logistics Manager located in Lexington, KY supports our Allied Products division and is responsible for the distribution of our septic and storm chambers throughout the United States.  This position will effectively build and manage a new fleet of 20 dedicated, Regional drivers. This includes load planning, order management, driver & equipment management, payload efficiencies, & administrative support.  The Logistics Manager reports to the Centralized Planning and Dispatch Manager but will work closely with all members of the Corporate Logistics and Allied Products teams.

     

    Responsibilities 

    • Create and manage driver load plans using internal TMS/ERP systems and cross-functional communication 
    • Use ADS regional drivers to off-set high cost, hard to cover lanes
    • Utilize existing ADS freight network to maximize backhaul opportunities 
    • Negotiate and tender loads with common carriers
    • Manage fleet efficiency by collecting, recording, and reporting on daily driver activity
    • Responsible for accurate, cross-charge journal entries to properly allocate freight costs
    • Manage personnel / HR issues such as: hiring, performance reviews, payroll, driver discipline, complaints, time off requests, etc. 
    • Facilitate maintenance (routine & emergency) and troubleshoot breakdowns 
    • Insure weekly and monthly trip closings
    • Monitor driver route selection    
    • Coordinate and maintain driver uniforms, cell phones, electronic toll collection systems, load supplies, and equipment needs 
    • Ensure compliance with company and FMCSA policies
    • Conduct monthly and quarterly driver safety meetings
    • Monitor and manage driver safety events through PeopleNet 
    • Make delivery & pick-up appointments
    • Monitor and manage driver hours-of-service (HOS) logs through PeopleNet 
    • Collect, review, and maintain driver trip reports
    • Understand and practice ADS Core Values & Leadership behaviors

    • Familiarity with ADS products

    • Ability to interact effectively with senior management     
    • Ability to stay organized & quickly switch from task to task 
    • Intermediate computer skills including MS Office
    • Requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week and off-hours / on-demand (on-call) as needed. 

    Educational Requirements:

    • Undergraduate college degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred      

    Preferred Experience:

    • Driver management experience
    • Logistics / supply chain background 
    • Prior dispatching experience     
    • Customer service experience
    • Federal DOT compliance
